Inspired by monoprint textures, I cut and assembled the pieces of paper to build a character. Developing character identity through shape and pattern, supported by my research into Sami culture, the triangles, stripes, circles, and repeated motifs communicate each character's personality. I used this texture as a storytelling device for a children’s picture book, with the imperfections of the monoprint process making each character feel handmade and individual.
