Northern Lights Wallpaper:
This wallpaper design explores the atmosphere and mythology surrounding the Northern Lights. Rather than directly illustrating the aurora, the project interprets its movement and luminosity through a dense, flowing pattern.
Each animal and figure in the design is based on legends and folklore connected to the Northern Lights. These characters are woven into the pattern so they appear and reappear as the design repeats, creating small narrative moments within the larger composition.
The illustrations were originally hand-drawn and developed into a repeat pattern before being screen-printed. The limited colour palette highlights the intricate linework. I later experimented with samples of blended colour to evoke the deep, atmospheric tones of the northern sky.
